New Magic In The Show
Posted on April 24, 2026
Wait… What?… How?
At the time of writing this, I’ve performed this routine in exactly one show. One!
That said, I’ve run through it many times in private, and I already know—it’s going to become a feature in a lot of my shows this year.
What makes this routine special is that it blends two brilliant pieces of magic into one. And while the climax is what grabs your attention (you can see that in the video), what’s been surprising me most is everything leading up to it. The core of the routine is a prediction effect—and it’s hitting just as hard as the finale.
So… what is the climax?
A stuffed animal appears on a chair.
That’s it. No cover. No distraction. No “look over there!” moment. Just a chair. An empty chair.
And then… it isn’t empty anymore.
Suddenly, there’s a teddy bear sitting there. Or a dog. Or a giraffe. It all depends on how things play out—there’s even a bit of chance involved, which makes it feel even more impossible.
It’s simple. It’s visual. And it’s been getting exactly the kind of reactions I was hoping for.
I’m starting to introduce this illusion into some of my 2026 library shows, just to get it out into the world. From there, I suspect it’ll become more of a theatre and festival piece.
But here’s the part I’m really excited about…
If everything comes together the way I hope, I’d love to offer this as an add-on for birthday parties.
Imagine this: the birthday child waves a magic wand… and a stuffed animal appears right in front of them.
And then—they get to keep it.
In summary: I can't wait to get this inot my show more often, and I can't wait to hear all the gasps and wows! If you're ever in the audience when I perform this, come tell me your thoughts!
