Did you know that Zoom parties don’t have to be on Zoom?
It’s true! With a little creativity, you can host a Zoom birthday party in real life, right in your own home! Many will tell you that it’s even more fun hosting the birthday party in person than over the internet.
Sure it’s a novelty, but give it a go!
Throwing a real life child’s birthday party may seem like a novelty at first, but give it a chance. The kids will love it. You’ll love it. In fact, in the olden days, it’s said that almost all parties took place in person, and people would attend them regularly.
When you hear a bell, don’t look for the admit button
There are lots of difference between Zoom parties and real life parties. For starters, when you hear a bell, don’t look for that admit button. There isn’t one. Go to your door, and see who’s ringing. As more people arrive, you’ll notice they’re automatically unmuted. Don’t look for a mute button, as there isn’t one. Just make the best of it, and enjoy the noise.
That may sound bad at first, but it’s not. It’s fun. And it comes with the happy bonus that the whole party won’t be centred around your old Aunt Ginny saying “Can you hear me? Can you see me?” At least, not in most cases.
It’s also a good idea to put out some snacks, as people who are visiting you for a real life party are further away from their own refrigerators than they’re used to. So surprise them with chips, drinks, cookies, and even cake.
Entertaining all those kids
You can entertain the kids at the party with games, sing songs, and activities like colouring and other arts and crafts. Of course your best bet is to hire a magician. A magician is always the best part of an in-person kids birthday party.
